Spicy Chicken recipe

Yesterday I decided to make some nice chicken curry for Maria. I was just experimenting and am sharing the recipe with you. Feel free to innovate if you decide to try it yourself and keep in mind that I am no Gordon Ramsay or Sanjeev Kapoor so don't blame me if you do not like it. :D

  • 1/4Kg Chopped Chicken Breasts
  • 2 Onions
  • 2 cloves of Garlic
  • Small piece of Ginger
  • 3 to 4 green chillies
  • 1 tomato
  • Paprika powder
  • Olive oil
  • Salt

Since the chicken pieces were frozen I kept them for defrosting in a bowl of water while I chopped the rest of the stuff.

Cut the onions into half and then cut each half into medium sized chops both horizontally and vertically.

Cut the chillies into little round pieces.

Chop the garlic and ginger into small pieces.

Cut the tomato into medium sized chops.

Now take a saucepan and heat it up. Add little bit of oil. Not too much as we are not going to fry anything. You can use any oil of your choice. I used Olive Oil. Now add the Onion, Garlic and Ginger and saute them for a while. Now add the chillies and tomatoes into the mix and keep sauteing.

Add 2 tablespoons of salt(or to your tastes). Add some Paprika powder to get the mix a bit of red colour. Don't add too much or the mix will be too fiery. Keep stirring until you feel that the mix is a bit thick and ready for the meat.

Now drain the water from the bowl with the chicken and add the chicken pieces into the saucepan and stir it well. We haven't added water yet. Let the chicken pieces mix well with the saute mix. Once you are happy with it, add water just enough to immerse the mix and let it boil.

You can keep checking if the chicken is cooked or not to decide when you want to turn the stove/flame off. It did not take me more than 15 minutes to get it ready.

You can now serve it with either chapathi, bread or rice.
